General Purpose Dual By-Pass relay

150 Watts PP RF power rating

Lets by-pass the Input and Output RF ports of devices such as Preselectors, Amplifiers,Filters, etc.

Typical applications are:
- Inserting in line between the antenna and transceiver a preselector, preamplifier or filter device to be by- passed on transmission.
- Switching antennas or RF signals.

A control line permits switch the dual relay. If the control line is connected to a transceiver, on transmission switchover, via PTT or Keying line, the Input and Output RF ports of any device in line are by-passed avoiding being overloaded.

Specialised high performance, low insertion loss set of RF relays are used in order to keep impedances and isolation.

Two models available:
- HF: up to 60MHz.
- VHF: up to 200MHz.

Model HF Dual By-Pass relay

HF dual by-pass relay features:

Two configurations depending on switch configuration. (see below)

- Default By-Passed.
- Default NO By-Passed.

- Dual switching signal relays.
- Frequency range: DC - 60MHz
- Insertion loss: 0.2 dB @ 60 MHz
- Isolation: 90dB typ.
- Power rating: 150 W P.P.
- Impedance: 50 Ohm
- SWR: 1.22 @ 50MHz
- Diode protection.
- Power supply: 12 Volts DC/68 mA
- Switching time:
- Set: 10mS
- Reset: 7mS
- Life expectancy (Mechanical): 20,000,000 operations (at 18,000 operations/hr)
- External Dimensions: 40x37x111mm.(1.57x4.37x1.45in)
- Connectors: SO-239 Antenna/RTX; BNC RX IN/RX OUT
- BNC-BNC coaxial tails and complete shielded control cable with snap-on RFI-EMI suppressor ferrite cores are provided.

WARNING TO AVOID DAMAGE THE UNIT!
In order to give enough time to the relays to switch before the RF power signal outputs the transceiver when the PTT is pressed, assure that your transceiver provides a delayed "SEND" control line signal.
Alternatively a TX/RX Sequencer can be used.

Model VHF Dual By-Pass relay

VHF dual by-pass relay features:

- Insertion loss: 0.003dB
- Isolation: 100 dB typ.
- Power rating: 150 W PP max.
- Impedance: 50 Ohm
- Diode protection.
- Power supply: 12 Volts DC/60 mA (Active state)
- Switching time:
- Set:5mS
- Reset: 4mS
- Life expectancy (Mechanical): 20,000,000 operations (at 18,000 operations/hr)
- External Dimensions:
- VHF model: 55x111x40mm (2.16x4.37x1.57in)
- Connectors: N type for Antenna Input/Output; BNC for Device Input/Output.
- Coaxial tails and complete shielded control cable with snap-on RFI-EMI suppressor ferrite cores
   are included.

Default By-Passed configuration

When the Dual Relay is not activated, pins 3 and 4 of the contol line connector are open or it is not powered, the device is by--passed. Device Input/Output ports are switched to ground. Default state.

When the Dual Relay is powered and pins 3 and 4 of the contol line connector are joined the internal relays switch and the device Input/Output ports are connected to Line Input/Output respectively. Active state.

A shielded body, 4 ways multipole connector is provided to control lines, carrying 12V DC and PTT/Keying lines.

Pins 3 and 4, 0V and PTT signal respectively, are isolated from ground. They can be connected to ground.

In order to give time to the relays to switch on switch-over assure that your transceiver provides delayed transmission switch over command. That avoid damage the unit.
e.g. derived from the T/R linear amplifier control output.
